Does anyone understand Starbury? Because he's officially confused me after his latest claim:
According to a report in the New York Post on Wednesday, Marbury revealed that he will play in Italy when his contract with the New York Knicks is up in two years - and compared himself with the English soccer star.Whoooooooaa there Boss Hawg. A Beckham thing? There's a slight difference between Beckham moving and you moving. You see... Europe actually wanted to hold onto Beckham. He's a big enough star in the soccer world that moving to America would increase the state's interest in "the beautiful game".
Marbury, according to the report, expects to make an impact on Italian basketball similar to the hoopla caused by Beckham's arrival in the United States to play for Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy.
"I'm not just thinking of doing it, I'm going to do it (move to Italy)," Marbury told the newspaper. "My wife loved it there. It's like a Beckham thing."
Star... (can I call you that?) Yeah, don't know how to break it to you... but uhh, no one really wants you here. Your game is kinda garbage. So that could cause a little conflict with the "it's like a Beckham thing" comment. Because Beckham is atleast good... old, but good. You're just... awful, old and awful.
I would hope he doesn't plan on playing basketball over there, and making a living. It's different for you to do that here, because we're dumb enough in this country (well, really just the Knicks front office) to pay you enough to make a living. I'd think anyone in Italy would be smart enough to say "thisah dudea is'a garbage-o".
I'd really advise you into opening up an Italian restaurant, and make your living on giving tequila shots to the Waltons.
I want to do the same thing for basketball and spread the Starbury Movement so people all around the world can benefit. I want to make things affordable for everybody.Damn, he's sure not making it affordable for the Knicks.

You need to change your name to "less credible" after posting this, sir. Last season, Marbury was acknowledged repeatedly by the New York media - who have KILLED him in the past - for playing the best, most team-oriented ball of his career. With a focus on setting up Eddy Curry as the No. 1 option on offense, and committing to defense - he notably spent one game absolutely HOUNDING Ray Allen into a terrible night - Marbs revitalized himself. He's far from washed up, and still carries star wattage - his shoe campaign, for instance, got Kevin Durant to push Nike to produce a mid-priced sneaker for him instead of their usual high end ridiculousness.
Stephon Marbury commits to defense. Wow, crack can be smoked first thing in the morning... One night does not a lifetime make.
I agree he was better last year, but if he's so good, how did the Knicks miss the playoffs in the *East*, for pete's sake?
Starbury would own the Italian League, just as Michael Ray Richardson did before him, because it's a minor league. Simple as that.
I was using that one game as an example. Yes, he traditionally has not been great or committed, but there was a noticeable difference last season, one recognized by Knicks beat guys Frank Isola and Marc Berman.
As for the playoff question, just as the Knicks reached the eighth spot and were improving, they were DECIMATED by injuries to Jamal Crawford, David Lee and others, which sent them into a tailspin. Paul Pierce is a great player, but Boston still missed the playoffs. Same with Jermaine O'Neal and Indiana.
Agreed about him owning the Italian league b/c of the overall level of play. But don't they have a team or two in the Euroleague (which is pretty solid)?
Jeez, someone has a little man-crush on Starbury.
