What do Bono, Doug Flutie, Shaquille O'Neal and Cal Ripken have in common? They all agree on one thing. The kids can go fuck themselves.
Ol' Dirty Bastard put it best when asked what he was doing for the community. "Nuthin." At least he was honest. These other actors, singers and athletes set up sham foundations and camps under the pretense of helping the kids when they're merely another way to put out a good image.
Finally we have an sportsman ... no, hero who has set up a camp that is truly for and about the kids. Derek Boogaard and his brother Aaron have set up the Derek and Aaron Boogaard Fighting Camp."A lot of times when people don't understand something, they don't like it," [Derek Boogaard] said. "We're not teaching kids how to fight and how to hurt people. We're teaching kids how to protect themselves so they don't get hurt on the ice. I don't want what happened to me to happen to them."

Derek Boogaard's Punch-Out
The one-day camp is in its second year and only costs $40. Find a bible camp that cheap. These are life lessons kids can't get anywhere else since the Tony Kornheiser Show went off the air.
We also need to salute the parents that send their kids to the camp. "It's the same thing as teaching your kids defensive driving," said Shelley Keen, the mom of 13-year-old Justin.
You think Carmelo Anthony would have stood his ground if he had the proper training?
