Dice-K Worth the Dough?

I guess for a lot of folks, the jury's still out... but I'm pretty sure that the Red Sox don't regret getting Matsuzaka, despite overpaying him when bidding on the posting system. But once you get over that, his yearly salary is a bargain.

With 12 wins and 136 kills thus far, he'd have to be a major consideration for Rookie of the Year (tho' I don't believe Japanese players should be legible for the RoY). His ERA could be a lil' better, but 3.79 isn't too shabby.

Whilst we haven't seen the gyro-ball as yet (or... have we?), he has a pretty full arsenal. I'd expect that he'll be right at the top of their rotation for years to come.

On the gyro-ball, I'm not sure what this is, and it sure as hell isn't Dice-K... but it's one helluva pitch!
