Ah, college sports. The bastion of innocence. Where athletes simply want to get an education and play ball. Oh, and get girls so drunk they pass out so they can have sex with them.
At least that's what "allegedly" happened with four football players at the University of Minnesota last April. Here's what Hennepin County Police say happened:
"Robert McField is alleged to have challenged 'Victim A' to a drinking contest.
She consumed eight shot glasses of straight vodka, the complaint says, 'filled to the brim,' and later was estimated to have a blood-alcohol content of about 0.30.
Shortly after the 'drinking contest,' McField and a female friend of Victim A went to McField's room, the complaint says. At that point, E.J. Jones and teammates Alex Daniels and Keith Massey 'took Victim A to a bedroom and took turns having sex with her,' according to the complaint.
But Dominic Jones, the other player dismissed Wednesday, was charged Monday with felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct after investigators found cell-phone video taken by Daniels that showed Dominic Jones in a sexual act with a woman described as 'physically helpless.'"
Cell-phone porn! Fantastic! Except when it's date rape. Then, it's not fantastic. It's another word that starts with an "F": Felony. So that would make these guys screwed. Oh, and the DNA evidence the police have probably doesn't help either.
And speaking of felonies, that's exactly what Robert McField (the one who challenged the victim to a drinking contest) must have majored in. Because a week prior to this event, he pled guilty in St. Louis County to to three felony armed robbery charges. He'll spend the next 12 years trying to watch out for his cornhole.
All of this comes the same week that University of Missouri basketball player Kalen Grimes was kicked off the team for striking a man in the forehead with a shotgun; University of Nebraska wide receiver Maurice Purify pled no contest to charges of driving while intoxicated, assault, disturbing the peace and hindering arrest; Rutgers assistant football coach Chris Demarest was arrested for assaulting his girlfrend and Wisconsin running back Lance Smith was suspended after a dispute with his girlfriend over how much money she owed him for cab fare (classy!).
College sports. Amateur athletics at it's most pure.

Damn, I didn't know they were running a train on her.
After "sloppy seconds", it just becomes "sloppy slop".
Unbelievable aspect of the night: After challenging "victim A" to a "drinking contest," the three football players who had sex with her did not drink... at all.
That's not a contest... that's premeditation.
sloppy slop...ha...you're right though

I think we should not be so quick to cast a stone!!! There is always more than one side to a story. Also, if you can't say anything nice about a person you should refrain from saying or writing anything. What you say affects more than the person you are targeting. Families and friends are involved on both sides. Writers should be held accountable for the damages they do with a pencil. Lawyers are also known for influencing their clients to plead guilty to charges without proven evidence. People go to jail when they are without means or good advice!!!!! Going to jail doesn't always mean you are guilty.
I agree, anonymous. Who the hell uses pencils these days anyway? They can put an eye out for sure. You should be Pacman's PR rep. Why don't you and the rest of the Care Bears go free Genarlow Wilson? Ban all lawyers and writers! Hugs!
There is no excuse for what the guys did. Wrong. But when oh when are people going to tell girls that when they put themselves into stupid positions of being taken advantage of, these things could potentially happen. Geez. Let's hold everyone accountable when dumb things happen.
