It's Official: I'm an Addict

Hello, my name is Kyle, and I'm an addict.

These are words I am now willing to say. An addict of what, you ask? It's quite simple: WhatIfSports.com, that's what. It has a hold over me I just cannot seem to let go of.

If you are not familiar, What If Sports is a sports simulation website. Basically, you pick a sport: MLB, NFL, NBA or NHL, and select a roster from every player who ever played in that sport, and compete against other teams. There is a salary cap, of course, so selecting Babe Ruth and Willie Mays' during their peak years isn't going to work.

Now, they also have Dynasty Games in college football, college basketball, pro baseball and even auto racing. This means you are the manager of said team, and you control every aspect of that team for as many seasons as you want (or can afford).

Do you have any idea how much time it takes to play Dynasty Baseball? You do everything, from managing your franchise's minor league teams to drafting. It's a virtual paradise for baseball fans. Every decision is yours, and it engrosses me.

I've neglected family, friends, food and sleep in pursuit of that elusive championship. I've played every sport they have to offer and as of today have a total record of 3,639-3,706-9. That's 7,354 games and 7,354 boxscores I've looked at.

I need help. There needs to be a WIS Anonymous. I have a demon, and it is uncontrollable. Undoubtedly, the absolutely fantastic television show "Intervention" is going to have an addict of WIS. It's only a matter of time. In fact, that person may be me.

So remember me in your prayers, dear readers. I have fallen into an abyss, and that abyss is What If Sports. Evil Bastards.
