Titans Interfering with Pacman's Future

by , Nation of Islam Sportsblog

Pacman Jones delighted both his own fans and fans of professional wrestling with the announcement that he might be entering the squared circle.

Fans were delighted. Professional wrestling was delighted, as this would be some badly needed good publicity in the wake of the Benoit Family tragedy. This seemed like a win-win deal for all involved.

But, leave it to the the NFL to try to further interfere with the future of Adam Jones.

Despite the fact that the NFL has suspended Jones. Despite the fact that Titans will give him no indication of contract security with the franchise. Despite the fact that Jones has a lifestyle that badly needs financed. Despite all this, now his future desire to attain wrestling glory may now be squashed.

"That type of thing is not permitted in accordance with the player's contract,'' Coach Jeff Fisher said Monday.

So, rather than let Jones attempt to begin to try to lay the groundwork for a life without football, the Titans prefer to hold him hostage to a contract which they may very well tear up in the near future.

Is it any wonder that Pacman acts out? Is it any wonder that his frustration can at times lead to decisions that may not be clearly thought out?

Pacman is trying his best to be a part of the team. But he is only allowed at the facility once a week. His future is muddled at best, so he is trying to lay a foundation of stability.

Yet, at every turn the league or the team tightens the shackles that have been placed on his wrists. Reminding him that he is their property. That due process is not a right he can expect. That his actions will be controlled by any means necessary.

We urge Pacman to remain strong. If his will is broken, so is broken the will of an entire generation. An entire demographic.

Fight the good fight, Pacman. Don your tights, lace your boots.

You belong in the center of the ring.

In a steel cage.
