You Never Know What You'll Find at Baseball-Reference.com

by One More Dying Quail

As you may have noticed by this, the fifth day of Epic Carnival's existence, I am not the sort to deliver breaking news straight to your door. Not really my style. Rather, much like The Extrapolater, I like to look around the Internet, find stuff that probably only interests me, and put it out there for public consumption. You never know - something might actually stick.

Sometimes I go actively looking for these things. Sometimes, like tonight, they fall into my lap. While working on a new feature that will replace the Bizarro Hall of Fame in a few weeks, I took Baseball Reference.com's list of every major leaguer born in California, sorted it according to first name, and discovered that the names of Dave Sax (Steve's big brother) and Dave Sells immediately follow one another.

The result: Sax Sells. If that's not a good motto for this particular Web site (or a great blog name; I should register it), I don't know what is.
