Basketball Player Eddie Griffin Dead at 25

Last Friday there was a fiery accident in Houston where an SUV hit an oncoming train. The ensuing wreckage was so bad, police couldn't identify the body until today.

Investigators, using dental records, determined that 25-year-old Eddie Griffin was the occupant in the vehicle.

The five-year veteran, who was the No. 7 pick in the 2001 NBA draft, had battled alcohol problems since coming out of Seton Hall. Griffin was suspended by the league for five games in January for violating the anti-drug program.

Griffin is best known for getting into a car accident while drunk and masturbating in his car to a porno. Regrettably it seems all too likely that Griffin didn't learn from his multiple mistakes.

Houston police said in a report that Griffin ignored a railroad warning and went through a barrier before striking the moving train at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.
