Bobby Cox Breaks All-Time Record ... Bud Selig Not There To See It

by Davey, Blown Coverage

Man, I love Bobby Cox. Not just because he's been the man at the helm during the awesome Braves run, but just look at that picture. If that picture doesn't bring a smile to your face your either dead or a Mets fan.

Either way, Bobby broke the all-time ejections record tonight as he got tossed for arguing balls and strikes at the end of the 5th inning of Atlanta's game against San Francisco. Cox passed John McGraw on the all-time list and now sits on top with a total of 132 tosses.

I was hoping that Bobby would get the record by running full speed, tackle the umpire violently into the ground, then follow that by taking a flaming dump on the ump's chest while singing "This is why I'm hot". But sadly it didn't go down like that. Actually, it wasn't even shown live because it happened during the commercial break.

And no, there was no appearance by Bud Selig and no video message from McGraw on the big screen. Pretty lame if you ask me...

My favorite part aside from the ejection is Chipper Jones hurling his helmet 80 feet, dropping f-bombs left and right, then getting the game-winning hit. Frickin awesome.
