Garret Anderson Drops a Dime on Yankees

by Jack Cobra, Cobra Brigade

Garret Anderson scoffs at those of you who wait for no-hitters. He thinks that people who are waiting for cycles are fools. He completely believes that perfect games are commonplace. He laughs at you when you say those things are difficult to do. Try to have 10 RBI's in one game he says....only ten players in baseball history have done it, and now he joins the list.

This is one of the reasons why baseball is so great. History can be made during any game on any day. Some people say that baseball is boring, but I think that is one of the things that makes it great. Garret Anderson's name will live on throughout the hallowed halls of baseball history....for something he did on a Tuesday in August.

Grand slam, boom. Three-run homer, bam. Two run double, splat. There you go, there are your 10 RBI's. You think that's easy to do? Only 12 players in the history of baseball have done it. The last time it was done was 2005.....People complain about waiting for no-hitters and perfect games....Try holding your breath until the next time this happens.

A little bit on the man who's name will be remembered. Anderson is one of the key cogs in the Angels attack this season. Without production from him they will struggle in the playoffs. He was in the news earlier this season for his views on wearing Jackie Robinson's #42, but for the most part he minds his own business. He was one of the most consistent, productive players in the American League until the injury bug hit him in 2004. Since that time he hasn't been the same player, but the Angels are hoping that this monstrous game last night is a sign of things to come as they make a run into the playoffs.
