It looks like next years Summer Olympic Games in Beijing may not got off without a hitch afterall. According to reports, the smog is so bad that some events may be severely effected, a feeling shared by the Head of the International Olympic Committee:
"Sports with short durations would not be a problem, but endurance sports like cycling are examples of competitions that might be postponed or delayed."
This is your karmic retribution China, for finishing your Olympic stadium ahead of schedule and making other countries around the world look like idiots. Yeah we may not be able to build anything on time or on budget, but at-least our athletes can breathe damnit. When their roids are working that is.
Of-course, a tiny little thing like over-pollution was never going to stop the Chinese government from running a perfect Olympic games now was it? Not only have several factories in the area been shut-down but some have been straight up moved to another part of the country. Now that's the Olympic spirit right there. They knocked down thousands of homes and forceably relocated people in order to build their stadium, so whats a little industrial shifting here and there?
