by OMDQ, One More Dying Quail
On November 17, 1975, the Texas Rangers traded future Hall of Famer Ferguson Jenkins to the Boston Red Sox for a three player package that included Juan Beniquez, Steve Barr, and a player to be named later.
The deal was completed the following month when Texas sent the PTBNL to Boston. His name?
Craig Skok.
Unfortunately, there has never been a Mike Hunt in Major League Baseball (although this guy comes close), and Rusty Kuntz was not available at the time, which means Skok might be one of the best baseball names of all time.
(Editor's note: Mr. Skok is also available to attend your corporate event. He is apparently considered a "legend" by someone.)
