Operation Clean Sheets

by Sooze, Babes Love Baseball

The Milwaukee Brewers will dig into their arsenal today and load their ace righty, Ben Sheets back into the rotation to start against the Chicago Cubs tonight.

After boasting a 10-4 record and 3.39 ERA into July, Sheets sprained his right middle finger and dealt with problematic blisters before landing on the DL.

Forty games later, he's back and ready to help the Brew Crew roll to a division title.

In those 40 long games, the Beer-makers went 14-26, tumbling out of first place in the NL Central. Sitting just 2-1/2 games behind the division-leading Cubbies and trailing the defending World Series Champs by 1/2 a game, the Brewers need nothing more than stability.

Sheets can, at the very least, bring a large amount of hope to the club. Regardless of who ends up on top in October, it should be exciting to watch.
