Attempts to settle the dispute have failed. But both sides agreed on one thing last Wednesday — the pending trial should be held in secret and the court records for the case should be sealed. McGrady’s attorney, Mark Sessums, said in court that the case should be kept secret because it includes “extraneous matters” that if released would be “injurious to both parties.” Sessums said the issues include possible trade secrets buried in McGrady’s endorsement contracts, and the privacy of the child, who was born out of wedlock in November 2005. McGrady has always had a squeaky clean image, and I guess this tarnishes it to a degree. It should be noted that McGrady and his current wife have been together for 10 years - and have a couple of kids - even though they didn't get married until late 2006. So that means he was out having some extracurricular fun with a woman 7 years his elder. Anyway, I'm going to side with T-Mac on this one. It sounds to me like he got pulled in by a woman who's a bit of a cougar. Let's hope this episode angers him enough that he'll find a way out of the first round of the playoffs.

I guess this really isn't any huge surprise, since pro athletes having kids out of wedlock is par for the course. But here you go. You can now add Tracy McGrady to that mix.
Apparently McGrady and the woman, Pearl Vega, 35, have done a pretty good job of keeping this thing silent for a few years and out of the public eye. But that's no longer the case.
Attorneys for Vega say McGrady should pay child support for their daughter in line with his NBA lifestyle and $21.6 million annual income.
McGrady’s attorneys say in court records that the claim is more about the mother’s “desire for a high lifestyle rather than any reasonable needs of a minor child.”
