Throwing Knives: What If? Thursday

by BD, Sports Show On Mute

It's Thursday again and that means I'm going to play the 'What If?' game. Nothing major happened in the sports world yesterday. That is, unless you consider Vince Young getting into a slap fight with a teammate news. For once, I'd like to see a football player absolutely lay out a teammate. These slap fights are getting a little old. Anyhow, enjoy Tracy McGregor, and then join me for a little possibility.

What If Arod Uses Steroids?
While Barry Bonds was, and is, one of the biggest names in all of baseball. He was already widely disliked for his off-field personality. It was an easy transition for many a baseball fan to hating him. While I wouldn't say I hate Barry Bonds by any means, I will say I'm disappointed with the circumstances in which Hank Aaron's record will fall.

In the case of Arod, he's generally liked, most of the people who hate him, also hate the Yankees. He's already been tabbed as the successor to Bonds throne at the top of the home run ladder. He's on the verge of becoming the youngest player to ever hit 500 HR's, more than 100 HR's ahead of where Bonds sat at the very same age. If Jose Canseco were to implicate Arod in his upcoming book, truth or not, a cloud of questions would begin forming over the future HR king. And we would be looking for the guy who could eventually succeed him at the top. Albert Pujols perhaps?

I don't think I'd buy into anything Canseco says in an effort to sell a second book. It would take more than that to get me to believe Arod juiced. He's been virtually the same size his entire career and I'm just not buying. The biggest question here is what we, as a baseball nation, will do if it turns out Arod's a roider?

It won't kill baseball, as Bonds has proved, nothing can. We all love this game, and we're not about to stop watching it anytime soon. That said, it will completely eliminate any chance for any athlete to ever again get "the benefit of the doubt" with regards to steroids use. No one will have a problem booing Arod, and Derek Jeter will look even better to the Yankee fans. And we'll have gotten to a point where it may not be possible for the HR king to be clean. As by the time Arod is done that high water mark may be north of 800. A number Albert Pujols likely will not be sniffing without a little extra on the side.

So, what do you think? Did, or does Arod juice?

The Cubs Are Offically Leading the Central
They look like the best team in the division hands down and the veterans on the squad give them just one more advantage over the Brewers. I don't want to say the Cubs are going to run away with the division, but they just might. The Brewers have looked pretty bad the last few weeks. While the Cubs have been rolling. The question now is, who will cost them the World Series this year?

You're probably too young to remember the Stephen Davis-Michael Westbrook fight then, huh? Westbrook by KO.

I know who both of those players are. I must've missed it. Was probably while I was in high school. To busy mixing drugs, partners, and alcohol to really care about anything else ya know?
