AGAINST THE SPREAD - KING OF TRAP GAMES

While my picks for this season have only been slightly above average (just 18-17 overall), I have excelled in one area this betting season: trap games. Going into this week, I'm 3-0 in calling trap games, getting it right with Colorado State (+14) vs. Cal, UCF (+19) vs. Texas and Kentucky (+6.5) vs Arkansas. So while my overall record it's exactly where I want it to be, I can still win you some cash with my Trap Games picks. And by the way, I'm still standing by my prediction that the Phillies will fold against the Nationals this week. On to the picks......

Pick of the Week
Titans +4 Saints - While everyone went with conventional wisdom that there was no way the Saints were going to start the season at 0-3, Vince Young once again found a way to win. Young is quickly becoming a gambling favorite for his comeback victories and ability to help the Titans cover spreads.

Bust of the Week
Louisville -37.5 Syracuse - forget Bust of the Week, this may be Bust of the Century. The Cuse, who had scored under 30 points all seaosn going into Louisville, somehow put up 38 to knock of the Cards and end their 20 game home wn streak. Since most games go off the board at around 40 point spreads, this may stand as the biggest point spread upset of all-time.


Upcoming Week

Trap Line
Akron +14 UCONN - A game of deceiving records. Uconn is 4-0, but it's best win over Pitt (who is still coached by Dave Wannstedt) and would have lost to Temple if it wasn't for a blown call from the officials. Meanwhile, Akron is 2-2, but the two losses came at Ohio State (a game the Zips trailed by 1 at the half) and Indiana. Take the Zips.

Head Scratching Line
Syracuse +1.5 Miami (OH) - So wait, the Cuse win at Louisville but are getting points at Miami of Ohio? Seems odd to me.

Jump Right In Line
Patriots -7 Bengals - Have seen the Pats offense this year? Have you seen the Bengals defense. I know it's Monday Night, but I'm going with the Pats until they prove me wrong.
