Okay, I'm going out on a limb here, but I think Louisville's Brian Brohm is somewhere in the running?... top 5?... top 3?... FIRST PLACE position for the Heisman trophy this young 2007 season. You might've missed last night's boring defensive struggle, where the Cardinals won 58-42 over the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders (as opposed to the Pastel Colored Raiders). Brohm threw for 401 yards and 5 touchdowns, all while balancing this baby. Right now, he stands at 776 yards and 9 touchdowns for the season. Oh, and he's yet to have a turnover, which is really cute. His backfield mate Anthony Allen ran for a school-record 275 yards and two scores, which puts him at "nice game kid, but your quarterback is making us wet" with the media.
Although these numbers from Brohm aren't terribly shocking, they are pretty damn impressive considering he's only really played a game and a half for the season. What IS shocking is how awful Louisville's defense is. They allowed 555 yards of total offense tonight, giving up an average of 10.1 yards per play. Their tackling is as sure as a Nick Saban promise.
But regardless of Louisville's defensive gouge-ability, atleast they've got an offense that scores at will. And a quarterback that's doing two things:
1. Playing effective Quarterback
2. Most likely getting some excellent co-ed "knowledge"
Roll the inspiration...
