HAVE YOU NOTICED...?

by Jack Cobra, Cobra Brigade

Have you noticed that since Chicago Cubs OF Alfonso Soriano came off the disabled list on August 28th he's only attempted one steal? While Soriano does have some power at the plate, quite a bit of his value is derived from his ability to get on base and steal bases since he is the lead-off hitter for the Cubs.

The Cubs signed baseball's last 40/40 man with the thoughts that he would be able to ignite their offense with his speed and now, when they need him most, he seems to have thrown his running game into neutral. It's possible that Soriano never fully recovered from his leg injury when he first came back, but he's been back for 22 games now on top of his 15 games on the disabled list. It's time for him to start running because the Cubs are running out of time.
