Suffice it to say I had a rocky Sunday. Sure, the Lions managed to win the game no one wanted to. But, I took an absolute bath on the Saints game. How do you know your secondary's bad? Jeff Garcia lights you up. Jason David's going to need an awesome 14 games to legitimately earn that paycheck he's cashing. Chad Johnson jumping into the Dawg Pound was more impressive than his HOF futures coat. Has Kellen Clemens earned another start? Rexy's gotta be wearing out his welcome in Chicago, doesn't he? And "The Juice" has been shaken up again. This time I've got a feeling he's getting the squeeze he deserves. Oh yeah, the Emmy's were last night and I managed to find this pic of Sarah Chalke blowing a kiss to Lozo.
The Charlie Frye Trade Finally Makes Sense
Not really. Kinda feels weird to believe Romeo made the right call for once doesn't it? Though, once Derek Anderson gets back to being Derek Anderson what happened this weekend will be forgotten and the Quinn chants will rise again. The Bengals defense is horrendous, the run defense especially, so I don't consider this game much of an endorsement for the Browns. More of a black-eye for the Bengals. Anyone else find it amusing the Bengals let a felon run for 200+ on them? They love their felons in the 'Nati.
I absolutely loved watching Chad Johnson's Dawg Pound jump celebration. The guy pouring an entire beer on him was the cherry on top. Anyone else lucky enough to draw Palmer and Ocho on their team in fantasy this week? As soon as I seen their final lines I knew I'd won. No need to look again. Those situations are so rare in FF that it's nice to be in one once in a while.
Pats To League: We Don't Need Your Signals
To be fair, the Pats very well could have been stealing signals last night. However, when you consider the score was 24-0 at the half I'd consider it unlikely. The Pats sent a loud message last night completing destroying what's considered to be the second best team. If this is how it's going to be the AFC playoffs will be severely lacking in entertainment. Randy Moss and Wes Welker have fit like a glove. You'd think Moss played the entire preseason if you didn't know better. And that defense? It's only going to get better when Harrison and Seymour return.
Who In The Hell Is Winning The NFC South?
I've already mentioned the money the Saints cost getting spanked by the Bucs yesterday. The Panthers lost to the Texans as well. The Falcons aren't winning more then 2-4 games this year. That leaves the Bucs. Who looked absolutely dreadful in week one. The Saints defense will probably cost them the division if not the playoff all together. As Drew Brees and company can't get the offense going to outscore even the worst of their offensive opponets. I'm putting my money on Carolina for now. Who know though, maybe Jeff Garcia can get Tampa to the playoffs. It wouldn't be as shocking as some other things we've seen lately.
LSU-Florida Should Be Fun To Watch
LSU's obviosuly the favorite as their playing host to the Gators in a few weeks. But, outside of Alabama I don't see a threat to either team in the SEC. The Gators just need to lock up that defense or even Sex Cannon 2.0 can't get it done in Baton Rouge.
Notre Dame Will Start 0-8
Lock it up. It's a done deal. I don't think they can beat Purdue and that's their best shot of their next five. It's never felt so great to hate the Irish.
Andre' Woodson True Contender
I'm not questioning whether or not Woodson passed Brohm on my NFL draft board. The real question is whether or not he can win the Heisman. He's cracked my top 5 for sure. But the real media probably won't give him any play unless Kentucky knocks off or plays Florida/LSU to the wire. I'd take him him over Brennan and Booty right now as far as the QB's go. But, we'll see about his Heisman staying power.
OJ Arrested
Here's hoping the charges stick this time.
Weekend Box Office Top 5
1. The Brave One - I'll Pass
2. 3:10 To Yuma - Haven't Seen it...yet
3. Mr. Woodcock - Should be seeing it soon
4. Dragon Wars - I will never watch this
5. Superbad - Must see if you still haven't
I'll be seeing "Shoot 'Em Up" soon. Possibly today. If not, expect the review at some point this week or early next. I know I said I'll be seeing Woodcock soon. But, I'm not sure another prick coach movie was the right move for Billy Bob.
Television
Though I don't watch it Prison Break starts up again tonight in case you forgot. K-Ville will follow but I'm going to pass on that as well. I'd recommend Weeds and Californication back to back at 10 PM on Showtime.
