After six consecutive weeks in the top five, USC dropped thirteen spots in this week's poll following its loss to Stanford. That was the largest change in rank for Week 6, but just barely - one week after climbing eight places to #5, Kentucky fell all the way to #17 after a sloppy loss to South Carolina.
This week's #5, Boston College, will have to work to avoid a similar fate. Yes, Notre Dame sucks this year, but that's precisely what makes me nervous. Two words: trap game.
Finally - love for Hawaii is still limited, despite a 6-0 record and "only" 16 touchdown passes in five games for Colt Brennan. We should find out if they are for real on November 23, when Boise State visits for a big conference matchup.
