INDIANA IS MAKING INAPPROPRIATE CALLS

by Sterling Gould, More Credible

How many times do you have to get caught red handed stealing from the cookie jar? I guess if you're Indiana basketball coach Kelvin Sampson, it could be as many times as your assistant coach will break the rules. The NCAA has been breathing down Indiana assistant Rob Senderoff's throat, so it's understandable that he'll step down to not be so much of a "distraction":

So far, the investigation has cost the Hoosiers one basketball scholarship and coach Kelvin Sampson a $500,000 pay raise. The NCAA is still conducting its own investigation, which could lead to further sanctions.

"Rob Senderoff has decided it is in his and Indiana University's best interests that he voluntarily resign," the school said in a statement.

Senderoff, a former assistant at Kent State, was hired by Sampson in May 2006, the same month the NCAA sanctioned Sampson for making 577 impermissible phone calls between 2000-2004 while he was the coach at Oklahoma.

I don't see what the big deal is. Why would you step down after being hired to be in such elite of a position? NCAA Violations? Pussy stuff. So what he's made over 550 phone calls in a 5 year span to recruits? Do you realize how many times I've dialed 1-800-Fat-Girl? My cell phone bill would make his cell phone bill his cell phone bitch.

You really need to let your recruits know that you care about them, a lot. You need to hear out their personal feelings, ask them how their day was, see if they're still practicing their mid-range jumper, what they're wearing to bed that night, and all of that important stuff. You can't get the full range of a person just with that few of phone calls.

No wonder Oklahoma has never been a success on the hard court. Sampson's boys just weren't doing their job right. By the way, we could use a few more readers here at EC... so uhh...

What you wearin' tonight cutie? ;)
