TIM COWLISHAW IS ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH

by Mike, The Pig Pen

After the Red Sox made dog meat out of the Cleveland Indians in Games 5, 6 and 7, the World Series has finally been set. A match-up between arguably the sports' most historic franchise in the Red Sox against a team that my buddy Mcbryde deems not fit to play in the Series because they wear vests (see '01 Diamondbacks). Boston vs. Colorado for all the marbles.

Unless you became dumber and lost all motivation to think after listening to Emmitt Smith's most recent Monday Night Football analysis like most of us did, you might remember that the Rockies are in the middle of one of the most ridiculous, most absurd hot streaks in baseball history. Winners of 21-of-22, Colorado not only reached its first World Series in team history, they didn't lose a single post-season game in doing so.

So will Colorado stay hot or will we see the Red Sox win its second World Series title in the last four years? Another question is, "What's Cowlishaw thinking?"

Dallas Morning News columnist, and presently goatee-less Tim Cowlishaw, claims there's still magic looming in Denver. Yes, Tim it's called marijuana.

Cowlishaw predicts Rockies in 6.

They're not supposed to be reversing a curse any more. They're simply supposed to be displaying the dominance that a $143 million payroll is expected to bring.

I don't see that happening.

I'm not saying it's impossible for Boston to beat the Rockies. I just think it's unlikely for any number of good reasons.

Want to know the reasons for his prediction? He gives ten, but this is the best one:

The Rockies and Game 1 starter Jeff Francis beat Beckett in Fenway, 7-1, this season. Josh Fogg beat Schilling in Fenway, 12-2. Right now, the Rockies have no fear.

Way to use a really, large sample size there, Tim, and then throwing in a completely subjective statement to back up your argument. Take the Red Sox in 6.
