by Kristine, This Suit Is Not Black
I know it’s not Cheerleader Friday, but I can’t in good conscience ignore this story simply on a technicality.
Six of the eight girls on the cheerleading squad at Ripon High School in Ripon, California were sentenced to a two-day suspension for a saucy little number they performed at their last football game. The girls performed to a Britney Spears song – which is decidedly more than what Britney Spears has done lately – at the end of which they bent over and flashed their spankies, spelling out “Indians.”
I have never been one to defend cheerleaders because, let’s face it, they’re basically little more than entertaining eye candy (I’ve never actually seen a cheerleader lead cheers. They perform cheers, yes, but no one cheers along, you see. They just sit and stare). So it’s a bit ridiculous for the school is all high and mighty about it when these girls were doing just what was expected of them. And from what these girls say of the football team’s “awful season,” this routine was probably the highlight of a long autumn.
Seriously, those spankies couldn’t be less sexy. They’re like Granny panties. And shouldn’t the school be more concerned with the fact that one of its students can barely read?

How come my high school never came up with ideas like this?
