To any of you that still read Page 2 on ESPN, you may have been a bit surprised today. No, it's not that Simmons managed to get through a whole column without mentioning a Boston team, it's that Jemele Hill compared Bill Belichick to Suge Knight.
Um, what?
Let's let Jemele explain.
In fact, Belichick is no longer just a genius coach with a ratty hoodie. He's added an element of pure gangsta to his already impressive game. He is officially the NFL's Suge Knight. From here on out, he's Suge Belichick.
If you've already checked out, I wouldn't blame you. Blogs don't even make comparisons this ridiculous. I'm not even going to get into Knight's massive rap sheet, you can just read about it here. And in case you're wondering, Hill also uses the legendary story of Suge Knight dangling rapper Vanilla Ice from a 20th-floor balcony to coerce him into signing over royalties from "Ice, Ice Baby" to make some sort of analogy to the Patriots. And then criticizes teams for being hypocritical by calling out the Pats for being classless. Or something, I stopped reading at that point.
To compare a coach who runs up the score to a guy that did significant time and may or may not have been involved in several homicides is sort of insulting - particularly to Suge Knight.

I always thought Belichick was more of a John Gotti-type anyway.
Jemele Hill gives us all hope that we might one day too get hired by the WWL. It isn't just a pipe dream any more.
The greatest was when she got into a beef with a writer from XXL magazine. He called her out saying she a phony that came from the uppercrest of society and didn't understand the things she was referencing, thus 'revoking her hood pass.' Needless to say, Hill tried to fire back and got embarassed.
Page 2 still exists? I guess that I am not missing out on much. Does Simmons' wife still trump his NFL columns every week?
