THE NICKELODEON: 15 YARDS FOR... A REFEREE'S HOMAGE?

ACC Ref Ron Cherry during the November 24th game between the Maryland Terrapins and the NC State Wolfpack drops the referee line of the year, penalizing a Maryland player for giving a NC State player "the business."

The homage and the original ... after the jump.

However, Cherry wasn't the first official to make such a statement during a game. NFL ref Ben Dreith, back in 1986 after a fight during the New York Jets / Buffalo Bills game, was the first to make the infamous statement.
