The Addai touchdown to end the half was huge as the Colt could just not take any advantage of being in the redzone the previous times. I'm thinking that if Marvin Harrison was playing, that he'd make a big difference down there. I might be wrong but my simplistic mind works like that.
Either way, my pick of the Colts is looking pretty decent so far but this will probably end up like that Dallas game. Dallas had some momentum, were leading in the 3rd quarter only to have New England storm back and win. I don't think they'll blow Indy out in the second half, but I just have a feeling that they'll put it out somehow.
- New England starts with the ball in the second half and Marlin Jackson just hammers Laurence Maroney on a run play. It's not often that Maroney gets hit like that. Somewhere right now, Sammie Morris just thanked God that he is on injured reserve.
- Indy forces New England to punt and it's only the second punt of the game so far. Why these two teams even have punters on the rosters is beyond me. Either way, Indy gets the ball and they have some "momentum" here.
- Ehh...the Pats get it right back. Manning tries to find Reggie Wayne over the middle but Rodney Harrison reads it well and comes up with the interception. The hate I have for Rodney Harrison is not very healthy. I should probably seek some sort of medical attention right now.
- Robert Mathis gets his 2nd sack of the day and I don't think that no other player has sacked Brady two times this season so far. The drive stalls after Brady tries to connect with Kevin Faulk but the pass is broken up. Brady thinks that there was pass interference and he's as angry as I have ever seen. He might impregnate the referee's wife right now out of pure hate and anger. Actually, he was going to impregnate her anyways, so the anger thing doesn't really add to that.
- Randy Moss just made a sick, one handed catch in traffic. There's only one person in the world that can make that catch and his name is Randy Moss. Some Raider fan just slit his wrist again...
- The Pats drive from deep within their territory but the Colts defense holds and they have to settle for a field goal from Stephen Gostkowski. The Indy lead is down to 13-10 and this is turning into a slug fest.
- Ouch. The Colts go deep on 3rd and 2 and Reggie Wayne just can't come up with it. You usually don't see a team go deep like that on 3rd and short, but then again, most teams don't have this Colts offense.
- Speaking of making sick catches. Gary Brackett just made one of the best interceptions you'll ever see. He tipped Brady's pass and made a bobbling catch as he was falling down. I never expected Gary Brackett to be so athletic.
- CBS informs us that Joseph Addai just became the first player in franchise history to get 100 yards rushing and receiving in the same game. I'm surprised that Edgerrin James never accomplished that feat during his days as a Colt.
- Touchdown Colts. Indy finally scores after getting deep in New England territory as Peyton Manning gets in on a qb sneak. That was the first time I ever cheered a Peyton Manning touchdown in my entire life. It feels weird. I don't know what's going on with me. Maybe the Rodney Harrison hatred messed me up for good now.
- And the Pats answer right back. Brady connects with Randy Moss on a 55-yard pass down to the 3-yard line and that is deflating. That ball seemed to be in the air forever but you just knew that Moss would come down with it. Not surprisingly, Bob Sanders is hurt.
- Moss gets called for pass interference on the very next play and the Pats will be backed up a little. Charlie Casserly called it this afternoon on the CBS Pregame Show and Bob Sanders is still on the sideline. The last part of that sentence has been used more than Anna Benson.
- Oh boy. We have a ballgame here. Brady hits Wes Welker on 3rd down and Welker beats Bob Sanders who got back in the game for a 3-yard touchdown. Brady sets a team record with his 32nd Td pass and it's a 20-17 lead for Indy.
- The Colts fail to get some points as Manning gets sacked and fumbles but the Colts recover the ball and at least get to punt it away. It doesn't matter much as Welker gets a good return back to about the 50 yard line and the Pats have great field position with less than 4 minutes to go. I have a bad feeling about this..
- And it only takes about 3 plays for New England to get a touchdown. Brady connects with Kevin Faulk and the Pats are suddenly leading 24-20. This team is disgustingly good. Seriously, I need a shower now. I have never seen a team answer so quick and so methodical. Peyton has one more chance to lead the Colts back. The universe hangs in the balance...
- Ugh. Manning gets sacked and the ball comes loose but this time the Pats do come up with it. Roosevelt Colvin has the fumble recovery and the Pats are a first down away from winning this game. Punch me in the neck please.
- Ballgame. Brady finds Welker for a first down and with Indy being without anymore time-outs, the Pats can just kneel and end this. New England goes to 9-0 and now we can legitimately start to talk about this undefeated thing. Disgusting. The Evil Empire strikes again and I hate life...
