A-ROD IN....LOWELL NEXT....WHAT?

You can go ahead and file this under, "What the Hell?"....it now looks like Alex Rodriguez is heading back to the Bronx and Mike Lowell may follow him over there, to play first base. Exactly. What? If you were still trying to figure out whether or not this would end up being a soap opera, consider that decision made for you. Someone needs to write a book about this...

First, the superstar has his agent announce that he's opting out of his contract during the World Series. Then the superstar doesn't return any calls from his former team even though his former bosses are screaming at him. The entire time his agent is going on TV and smiling his way through interviews as if he knows something that no one else knew. Well, he did....they were screwed because the market was bone dry for A-Rod once his possible asking price was known. Still.....this could all be a ploy and it could blow up in the face of the Yankees. Who knows at this point, it's pretty much out of control. I've never seen anything like this....

On top of that, it looks like the Yankees are going to make a run at World Series MVP/Gold Glover/Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell....to play first base. What? What the heck is going on here? At first it looked like the Yankees were going to take it easy and play it safe this off-season and now they are going off and possibly signing players they probably don't even need....to play a position he doesn't even know. What?

This whole off-season is like a lap dance gone awry. At first it looks like it's going to be a beautiful thing full of wonderful moments but in the end all we feel is dirty.
