THE ''MISTAKE BY THE LAKE'' CONTINUES IT'S BAD FORTUNE

by Isaac, The World of Isaac

Browns fans are pissed. Justifiably so? Well, I'm not so sure. The Colts goal is to win the Super bowl at all costs, not to assuage the anger of Cleveland fans.

But even so, you just have to feel a little sorry for them. I mean,

- The city sucks
- The pro sports teams haven't won in 40+ years
- Art Modell disappeared like a fart in the wind and won a championship in another city
- Their defending Eastern Conference champ Cavaliers are below .500
- The Indians got run by the Red Sox and are facing a daunting task of getting back to the playoffs again with the improvement of the Tigers
- Their beloved Buckeyes are facing an away game for the National Championship.

Anything else?

Oh yeah, they f'd up the 2004 Presidential Election too.

At this point, maybe Cleveland fans should all just collectively take turns drowning themselves in Lake Erie.

As for the game in question, Tennessee beat the Colts 16-10. Peyton Manning sat early in the second quarter and donned the headset.

In entered the pride of Fraser, Michigan; Jim Sorgi.

Sorgi is at best, an average backup quarterback. That is to say, he holds a clipboard pretty well and is a good "locker room guy". The term locker room guy might as well read

"he sucks but we are trying to be PC about it".

Sorgi played poorly in this game and could only muster a touchdown in the third quarter. His final stats were mundane, 11-24 for an astounding 68 yards.

But its a wonder though, maybe Sorgi tanked this game on purpose? He was born and bred in Michigan(attended UW) and maybe he's as sick of OSU dominating their little brothers from Ann Arbor just as much as the next guy.

It's an interesting conspiracy. I can see the headline now

"The hometown boy finally sticks it to Ohio where it hurts"

Hmmm?

Well anyways, I digress.

As bad as it for Cleveland Browns fans, it could be worse, trust me. You could be rooting for the Detroit Lions.

That's right, I am absolutely FURIOUS that all three Cleveland teams had winning records in 2007, and two of the three advanced to the conference championship game, at least. No, come on, it's not that bad. I'm disappointed in the Browns missing the play-offs, but it's been a great year for Cleveland fans compared to 2002-2005, where a winning record in any sport was cause for celebration.

Its sad that a fanbase is so beaten down that "winning seasons" is the bench mark for success.
