by Chris Richardson, Intentional Foul
To quote the everlasting Charlie Brown Christmas Special: "Christmas time is here. Happiness and cheer." It's that time of year boys and girls and to celebrate, I went out and found some Christmas-related/quasi sports-related videos to help you enjoy the season.
While this may not constitute "Stupid Sports Sh!t" per se, some of these finds are silly enough to make you smile... or laugh embarrassingly. One thing is for sure, this time of year brings out a side of folks we don't normally see and this extends to the Dallas Cowboys.
My first find is a video of a Dallas Cowboys Christmas greeting from 1986. Now because I grew up in England during the 80s, I'm unfamiliar with the players and I haven't done the necessary research, but if anyone can help with identification, that'd be grand.
Anyway, here are some Christmas greetings from the 86 Dallas Cowboys. I especially enjoy the sunglasses being removed portion because nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a heaping of 1980s coolness.
This next vid is what happens when you love Christmas, Christmas Tree lights, the NFL, and Joe Buck too much: 40000 LED lights blinking in time to the Fox NFL theme song.
I'm amazed they used the entire song... and by the fact there is a full version.
OK, this next find is also from 1986 and it's an ABC Sports Brief that aired during December. There are some nifty things to look for in this video, namely, the awarding of the Heisman to Vinny Testaverde. We also have footage of a Steve Alford-led Indiana Hoosiers beating UK in basketball. Nice shorts, Steve.
Seasons Greetings from Budweiser!!!
Folks, this is a stopping point for me tonight. You all have a great holiday season and a Merry Christmas. I hope your Christmas Day morning is as happy as this kid's:
