As the Minnesota Vikings commenced in bitch-slapping the Detroit Lions this afternoon, I began to wonder who it was that Coach Brad Childress reminded me of.

His looks have been compared to that of Jerald McRaney's character on the 1990 television series Major Dad, but that wasn't it.

I couldn't take it any more, so I called my older sister. She used to rat her bangs and tight-roll her jeans in high school, so she obviously knows a lot about 90s television.

After a bit of teamwork, it hit me. He looks exactly like the late Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor Michael Jeter.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Mr. Jeter's resume, he was best known for his role as Herman Stiles on the 90s tv series Evening Shade. You youngsters out there may recognize him as Mr. Noodle from Elmo's World.


Tell me I'm wrong.

Editor's note: Upon being reminded of Mr. Jeter's open homosexuality, HIV, and all-out nerdiness, I suppose I have to make it clear that I don't believe the same goes for Childress... at least not the HIV part.
