Epic Carnival | Where Sports and Pop Culture Collide: TOP 10 THINGS SIXERS FANS WILL MISS ABOUT BILLY KING

by DMtShooter, Five Tool Tool

(For all of you wondering who Billy King was, he was, up until this morning, the GM of one of the least relevant professional basketball teams on the planet, my Philadelphia 76ers. He held this position for over nine years, the last six of which saw the team decline.)

10. The way he helped keep attendance down to 1/3rd full, which really helped the parking, restroom and concession situation

9. The knowledge that our disastrous GM who overpaid for utter mediocrities that did not mesh well together... was still better than the Knicks

8. Sent Allen Iverson to a good home, with a family that loved and cared for him, and got him lots of fresh air and exercise

7. Gave Larry Brown somewhere to be when no one else wanted him, at least before the 4pm dinner special kicked in

6. Hired Mo Cheeks, Aaron McKie and Moses Malone, which definitely improved the team's talent level: unfortunately, none of them put on a uniform

5. Traded for Chris Webber, who, it must be said, did tip well at local restaurants

4. Drafted Bobby Jones, which gave those of us who remembered when the organization was good a nice little smile

3. Gave a lot of people the ability to list "Head Coach, Philadelphia 76ers" on their resume

2. Made the final years of Theo Ratliff's career much more interesting than they would have otherwise been

1. His story of holding a high-paying job that he was in no way good at for over nine years is an inspiration to slackers and incompetents everywhere
