I am currently a season ticket holder for the Boston College Eagles. They went an outstanding 10-3 and won the Atlantic Division in the ACC. They will be playing in the Champs Sports Bowl against a 7-5 Michigan State squad. What? A division champion has to play a borderline bowl team in a non-New Year's day bowl.
Boston College was passed over by the Chick-fil-a Bowl (Peach Bowl to me) in favor of a Clemson squad which has a worse record than BC in the conference and lost to the Eagles in Death Valley. Why was Clemson picked over Boston College? The Peach Bowl committee stated that they were scared of bringing a BC team to Atlanta because they have a reputation of not traveling well. The Auburn Tigers who will be Clemson's opponent in the bowl game sold out their allotment within 24 hours of putting tickets on sale. So why not give BC fans a chance to purchase tickets and if they do not sell the allotment turn around and give the Auburn fans a chance to buy the extras? We all know that this could have been done. So the Peach Bowl committee decides on bringing Clemson to the game over Boston College when all the Clemson fans are just going to jump in their cars day of the game and leave after the game making the trip back to South Carolina. How does this bring more money into the Atlanta economy since the fans are just commuting?
I know I am a little bitter over this situation as BC has had better teams since the move to the ACC than they are getting bowl bids for now. BC will continue to have the travel issues if they don't make a MAJOR bowl game since I know a ton of season ticket holders continue to hold out until the Eagles make a BCS game. Why would I want to go to Boise State (first year in ACC), Charlotte to play Navy (Second year), and now Orlando to play a crappy Michigan State squad (third season)? Why should anyone care about college football when the better team on the field does not get rewarded because their fans don't travel well? The team that won the game on the field should be the one going to the better bowl game.
Seriously, why should we care about college football when it is a joke?

that crappy MSU team is going to run your eagles
Not about that...Just that Clemson and UVA both go to better games then Boston College based on fans over the actual play on the field.
The only game Boston College has ever played in that anyone that didn't go to Boston College cared about was against Notre Dame, and that was 15 years ago.
You're in a basketball conference. Just be thankful they don't make you hold pom-poms at football games.
