IS HE OR ISN'T HE?

After days of speculation as to whether or now Erik Bedard is going to be headed to the Seattle Mariners, it looks like today will be the day we find out.....or will it?

If I were a fan of the Mariners or the Orioles I believe I'd probably be at my wits end at this point in trying to figure out whether or not this trade is happening. It has to be completely frustrating to think one of your top players/prospects is being traded and then have to wait days to find out if it's really true.....and that's why fans aren't in charge of teams. We'd be trading everyone left and right without giving it a second thought.

While I'm sure the teams are also anticipating the end of this 'saga', it is up to them to do their due diligence in figuring out whether or not this is a good deal for their respective teams. The Mariners seems more than ready to ship out their top prospect and some other players in exchange for a burgeoning left-handed superstar.....on the other hand, the Orioles seem to be not so sure that giving up a valuable piece of their starting rotation is such a good idea for a team that is trying to keep their fan base from burning down team headquarters......Conflicts are situated everywhere.

So, what do I think will happen? Your guess is as good as mine. Dealing with the Orioles this off-season has been.....shaky, at best. Just ask any Cubs fan who thought they had Brian Roberts two months ago. We could find out today whether Bedard is going to the Pacific Northwest....or we may be left waiting until the beginning of Spring Training to find out. At this point, only the Orioles management knows.
