Regular season college basketball games have become almost completely meaningless - In football, the lack of a playoff system makes regular season games way too meaningful. Basketball however, has gone too far the opposite way. Two levels of playoffs (conference tournaments and the NCAA tournament) have rendered the regular season almost pointless. Yes, a handful of ranked teams were upset on Saturday. But what does that mean in the big picture? So Florida upset #13 Vanderbilt. So what? If you aren't a huge college hoops fan, or a fan of either the Gators or the Commodores, you probably weren't even aware of that. So Wisconsin and Indiana both lost. One of them is still a good to win the Big Ten Conference and up with a high seed in the Tourney.
Although that Georgetown-WVU game was pretty entertaining.
The NHL SuperSkills Competition (or whatever its called) is a joke -
Out of sheer boredom, I checked out the NHL skills competition on Versus. Now, I know what you are probably thinking: Wait, there was an NHL skills competition? and what the hell is Versus? Trust me when I tell you that you didn't miss much.
In its never ending quest to mimic the NBA in every way imaginable, the National Hockey League took a simple penalty-shot competition and turned it into a convoluted and bizarre spectacle where "judges" (including a thoroughly confused Dominique Wilkens) rate each penalty shot from 1 to 10, similar to the slam dunk contest. None of the judges seemed to know what they were supposed to be using to come up with their ratings, which is why shooters were given 8s and 9s for unsuccessful shots. I'm still trying to figure out how a guy can get a 9 for a penalty shot when he missed the net completely.
Tiger Woods is still really good at golf - First of all, nothing like golf in January!
Secondly, the guy who single-handedly made golf really interesting, is now making golf really boring. Its not even interesting to watch him compete anymore because no other golfer is even in his league.
Tennis is still...Tennis - Sorry. Even if it is a major event, and even if the women's final involves her vs. her, its still just tennis.
When do pitchers and catchers report again?

This blog is stupid. Let me tell you why: it purports to be a "sports" blog, but its full of BS, like "regular season college basketball games have become almost completely meaningless." Horribly ignorant statement. Next to football (both college and pro), which is an animal of its own, name one more relevant regular season game than a college basketball game. You can't. Think about it (wait, that's right, you don't think before you type): heading into march madness, they are always talking about key wins and key losses - the regular season sets up the brackets that you cherish so much. What do you want them to do? Line up and play the tourney the first week in December?
This blog is stupid. Let me tell you why: it purports to be a "sports" blog, but its full of opinions that don't perfectly match my own, which causes me to write out comments that defend my own way of thinking, which is clearly under attack. Don't I have enough to do, what with my penis being so inadequate that I can't even post under an identity?
This blog is stupid: let me tell you why. It is authored by fellas that make absolute statements that have absolute no basis in sports or reality, yet self-rightegously consider themselves to be not only "writers"/"authors"/"journalists", but sports enthusiats. In order to present a respectable sports forum, you should be required to have some familiarity with sports, and some ability to write; in any event, more than just a user name - you f'ing nerd; like anyone knows/cares who "WTC" is. I thought it was about sports, not one another - wait, that's right - it's not about sports at all.
