DEAR MAJOR LEAGUE GENERAL MANAGERS

by , SimonOnSports

Hey Guys,

Hey it's you're #1 free agent target going into the offseason, CC Sabathia. I just want to give some explanation to some of the misleading statistics you might be seeing on the back of my baseball card right now.

That era you see posted next to my name. They actually shifted the decimal point. I know it says the same thing on Yahoo, Sportsline, Baseball America, ESPN, etc. but didn't you know they all use the same master mlb database to get their stats? So for some reason or another that database is messed up and the decimal point got shifted. My era is actually 1.35 not 13.50. Come one we all know I'm better than that.

So now the three losses. That's pretty simple. It's tough to win even for a great pitcher like me in games when you're team only scores 1 or 2 runs. If Hafner has hit the ball hard once this season than I must have been in the locker room eating a chesseburger cause I haven't seen it.

So I know I told you that they messed up the database, come the winter time, how about we just look at my stats after the all star break. Really the baseball season is just too long. And do you really want to pay a guy a low contract of 15 million dollars to a player who is only good in April? Come on of course you don't. You want them at their best in September and October. And I'm saving myself for then. That's why I've only thrown 18 innings in 4 starts so far. I'm saving myself to be fresh for the postseason and/or postseason free agent market.

I think right now we should just all agree to look at my 2007 stat line. That was pretty. Ok well, I'm gonna go to the buffet with a few of my boys, gotta keep my strength up, just don't pay attention to this whole April month. You're still going to want me on your team in 2009.

CC Sabathia
