REEBOK REALLY KNOWS THEIR SPOKESPEOPLE

by DCScrap, on 205th magazine

In case you missed it, and I am not sure how you could have, but I will play along, Carolina Panthers' wide receiver was suspended by the team for the first two games of the regular season for laying out teammate Ken Lucas with a punch and leaving him with a broken nose that will require surgery. Therefore this ad by Reebok (to the right) might just be a bit inappropriate right about now.

"I'm not going to get into who's right, who's wrong. I'm completely wrong," Smith said. "It was an asinine decision. And I'll move forward better than I probably have ever had to. It's the first time in my life that I really haven't forgiven myself."

"I will not put myself into a position where I have to defend myself, to state my side of the story. There's no side," Smith said. "There's only one side, a lack of judgment on my part. That's really all I have to say. I have no excuse. All I have is the opportunity to gain the respect of my fans, to gain the respect of my family, gain the respect of my co-workers and gain the respect of the organization."

Personally I just want to thank Mr. Smith for the fact that he is my top keeper in my fantasy football league and now my entire fantasy football season is now in jeopardy. When are these athletes going to start considering how their actions affect those around them and the fans that root for them, or more importantly, me?

Awful Announcing is awesome and handsome and found this ad.
