SNOOP DOGG IS A TRUE L.A. SPORTS FAN

by WCT, The Ship of Fools

Thanks to The Big Lead

Would you like a one-man microcosm of my impression of L.A. sports fans? Look no further than Southern Californian native Cardozar Calvin Broadus, Jr. (thank yooooou Wikipedia!) better known as my boy, and your favorite, Mr. Snoop Dogg.

You see, three years ago, when the USC Trojans were holding weekly ass-kicking sessions, and winning at an unheard-of rate, Snoop jumped on that bandwagon. He attended practices, he stood on the sideline at the Coliseum, he even addressed the team from time-to-time (about what, I have no idea). He was a fan through-and-through.

Fast forward to now. It has been a few years since USC has won a BCS title, and Snoop-a-loop has apparently had enough. He has ditched his USC gear, for the purple and gold of the current BCS title-holders. Thats right, Snoop is on the LSU Tiger bandwagon now.

The Big Lead has the video of Snoop wearing a Tiger jersey and kickin it with Les Miles at a Rotary Club meeting.

So typical, isn't it? USC was hot, the Coliseum was "the place to be" and Snoop was front-and-center at Trojan games. Now LSU is the champ, and suddenly its "Geaux Tigers!" One can only imagine where his loyalties will lie this time next year, as LSU is poised for a possible down year and USC is supposed to be in the BCS title hunt.

Like any good L.A. sports fan, Snoop was seen leaving Tiger Stadium early to avoid the infamous Baton Rouge traffic...

This is wayyyyy too easy...

Snoop does realize that just because Louisiana's state abbreviation is "LA" that it doesn't make it "Far East L.A."?

actually Prophet, the worst traffic I have ever been in in my life was in Baton Rouge. No joke after the LSU-Florida game last year it took me like 3 hours to get from Tiger Stadium like a mile down the road to my hotel. That "city" is not equipped for a big-time college football team

This is a point well taken...I've unfortunately sat in similar traffic in Clemson, SC which is so small that it makes Baton Rouge look like Tokyo. Just sitting in Clemson is bad enough, sitting in traffic is brutal...

Of course as any good comic knows, there's no reason to let reality get in the way of a good punchline :-)
