The Christopher "Beanie" Wells' foot soap opera, available 24/7 check you local listings, has just reserved my hospital bed. Ken Gordon from The Columbus Dispatch can be thanked for that:
"I think there must be some sort of structural damage in the toe/foot. If it was just a "soft tissue injury'' -- in English, that's called a bruise -- it would not still be such a big issue. For him to be doubtful to play even now, nearly two weeks after the initial injury, leads me to think he will be dealing with this all season. Now I'm not freaking out. Those are just words from a columnist. Tressel hasn't mention it. But what if he does? I'm always about looking to the future and beyond this game against USC. But this game is special. Saturday is MY BIRHTDAY! I really like having HAPPY BIRTHDAYS! I rather can't remember my last bad birthday. Bad Valentines Days? Always. But no bad birthdays. I'm not saying that if Beanie were to play then the Buckeyes would definitely get the win. But Beanie is one of my favorite players to watch. Him breaking tackles and rushing for a 60 yard TD could be compared to receiving a Hermes Birkin bag for free. Ok, him doing it at least 3 times throughout the game would be compared to that. It's just so beautiful to watch.
So that then begs the question: Is it better for him to try and hobble out there week after week, or shut it down and look to the future?" (Dispatch)
I understand that this is a wait and see type of thing. I'm not a wait and see type of person. So I search for news on Beanie and this is what I find. Thinking I may need to start changing my ways.

I don't understand why the medical redshirt is such a bad thing. If he is not healthy, would you rather him hobble out there as a shell of himself all year, then bolt for the NFL, or sit out the year, take an 8/9 win season this year, then come back as a redshirt junior in '09 and join T-Pryor in the backfield?
I think she is just upset that he is hurt, period, more than anything...
I hate that Beanie is hurt. It's not about the game anymore. I just want Beanie to be healthy.
Sorry you now have a bad birthday to remember, SD.
