Seriously, is there NO ONE ELSE available in boxing?

Evander Holyfield has been offered a fight with WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev in December. Seriously. Holyfield is 46 freaking years old. He is 6-6-2 in his last 14 fights. AND THIS IS THE BEST CHALLENGER THE WBA CAN FIND IN THE WHOLE WORLD?! Wow. No wonder MMA is taking off.

"Yes, we are in negotiations with Evander Holyfield," Sauerland Event managing director Chris Meyer said Thursday. "We have made him an offer, but nothing has been signed yet."

Should the fight happen, it likely will be staged in either Switzerland or Germany, he said.

I guess because the people of Switzerland and Germany have sooo little to entertain them? Well get ready, people of Switzerland and/or Germany, because you can drop some serious cash on an event that in all likelihood will probably look like the last time that Evander Holyfield fought a Russian... a year ago.



How entertaining!

Holyfield would be the oldest fighter to be a 'world champion' if he should win. A record that absolutely no one in the entire world will give a rat's ass about. Best of luck.
