Epic Carnival | Where Sports and Pop Culture Collide: Model banned from boxing because of breast implants

Model banned from boxing because of breast implants

on 205th Images

Sign of the Apocalypse? Sarah Blewden (great name), a former model (so she's hot) was told by the Amateur Boxing Association of England that she is not allowed to compete in sanctioned boxing events because the breast enlargement she underwent in 2003 puts her at greater health risk. Uh... wha?

"International rules forbid anyone with breast implants continuing to box because of risk of damage to the breast tissue," said Tony Attwood, chairman of the ABAE.

"The natural breast tissue is pushed forward in front of the implant and it is this that is more at risk."

Repeated punches to the breast could also lead to distortion known as capsular contracture, he said.
Sarah says that she is willing to pay for any damage to her, uh, breasts should they become damaged in the course of battle.
"My surgeon said they make me no more vulnerable than any other woman. They are not enormous ones - they are in proportion. They are gel implants and not liquid so they won't burst."
I'm afraid I am going to have to test them out myself before I pass any judgement on the safety of the items in question. Purely for her own good, of course...

Great story but its actually a legit concern. Not that women shouldn't be encouraged to get breast implants...

Which is why you've gotta hope your girl Gina Carano never heads to the WWE--Vinny Mac will slap some fake tits in her chest and her fighting career will be screwed.
