When an 18 year old kid is drafted by a MLB club he is sent to rookie ball in small town America. Sure he has a couple of millions of dollars in his bank account, but thats a long way from the circus of NBA. When a player does make it to the show he has usually spent at least 2 years in the minors, with little to no endorsements, and without the pressures of TV cameras and reporters in his face 24/7. Maybe if the NBA followed in the footsteps of MLB and the NHL and developed a minor league system that let these kids develop as both athletes and human beings this wouldn't be an issue.&lt;BR/&gt;I know the NBA has a development league, but you can hardly call that a minor league system. I guess in the end it doesn't matter anyway, the NBA is a dead league. Has been for a long time. If you don't believe me know check back in after this whole Tim Donaghy thing runs it's course.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/1549089718489651445/7887939860656570400/comments/default/2155634477730439351'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/1549089718489651445/7887939860656570400/comments/default/2155634477730439351'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.epiccarnival.com/2008/05/do-you-turn-pro.html?showComment=1211472180000#c2155634477730439351' title=''/><author><name>Anonymous</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.epiccarnival.com/2008/05/do-you-turn-pro.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1549089718489651445.post-7887939860656570400' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/1549089718489651445/posts/default/7887939860656570400' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
