Sorry I keep adding comments but I keeping thinking of more stuff. I'm a big pussy man and being in college in Boston was the best pussy situation of my life. The sex action for a dude at the all girl schools is unreal. I used to go to parties at Regis College and a few times I was balls deep in some chick within a half hour.

Even with all of the quim I was geting living in Boston was so miserable I had to leave.

Also, remember the whining in 2007 after Portland got the #1 draft pick? Boston fans were actually trying to make the case that they had been screwed out of the #1 pick that they "deserved". I'm not sure that the draft lottery isn't fixed, but if it is that's a extended middle finger by David Stern to "The Hub".

I made the mistake of going to school in Boston for two years and it was the worst mistake I made in my life. The school was fine, the other students were cool but living in Boston was so incredibly miserable that I would have considered a transfer to the University of Siberia a step up in living conditions.

Fortunately, I'd had enough at that point and transferred to a school in California and haven't regretted it since.

I could write a book on what sucks about Boston and maybe I will at some point. The entitlement attitude of the locals was hilarious--they couldn't even fathom that other places had better seafood, better sports team and were generally a better city.

The first week I was in town everyone kept talking about how Legal Seafoods was the best seafood anywhere. I finally relented and tried it. I stood in line for two hours to eat some bland, overpriced grub. It was edible, but wouldn't make the top ten of best seafood I've had (I've had a lot). When I mentioned to some Boston local that the clam chowder at a place I went once in Dallas was better he gave me some lecture that I didn't know seafood.

Boston also has the ugliest women in the country. At least I was in college and could get with other college students--the hot ones were invariably from out of state, if not out of the country.

I'd rather live in a refrigerator box under an overpass in most American cities than in a 20,000 square foot mansion in Boston.

On behalf of the entire city of Cleveland let me say i completely agree with you. Boston is a swolen vaginal sore on the pubic landscape of america. We are going 44 strong ones without a championship of any kind while these ungreatful mick bastards roll in the success. Luckily Tom Brady ripped his knee off, The Rays raped the Sox in dramatic fashion, and as for the celtics... LeBron will see to those bastards.

I'm Canadian! I've drank from the Stanley Cup, post victory... so yes, of course I've "watch" a game let alone a full season.

The fact of the matter is that the NHL is failing in the United States, other than novelty games like last weekend in Buffalo. Sure there are some markets that thrive, but more are a losing proposition. Look at recent Cup winners like Carolina, Tampa Bay and Anaheim, all of whom have big problems drawing fans.

sitting here, looking out my office window into the center of boston - and it is gray and cold as my grandpa's balls.

then i read this fine piece and it was like a ray of sunshine opened up and warmed me from the inside like that first scotch before breakfast.

you see, we old school brahmin bastards remember all too well how terrible the sports droughts have been (and inevitably will be again), but we remember what got us here - being total assholes to everyone.

you may say we ran some of the best players in pro sports out on a rail as a result of our asshole-strategy (we did!), but we are vindicated by the current success, and we shall not stray from the system.
